That's a math goblin who does tricks to our numbers. Sometimes when we put a number in, the number grows. Sometimes we have a mean math goblin who takes away from the numbers we put in.

Most of the time grade 3 students can solve the math goblin mysteries.
We are learning about functions, equations and missing variables. Sometimes it is easier to understand the idea than to learn the tricky vocabulary.
